like, i don’t think there’s any city i’ve been to where i feel the same level of anxiety/vulnerability as nyc. just being there is really emotionally/mentally/financially taxing on me, and honestly, the prospect of living there is terrifying. more power to you if you can, but to me it feels like i’m in the panopticon and my wallet is figuratively being opened and vacuumed out at the same damn time

i can agree. the worst part about this is the people who glorify and make it seem like living in nyc = youre on the frontier of culture and fashion. true new yorker elitism is the most disgusting thing in the world its like being an elitist about being able to eat the most turds in one sitting. nyc is grody as fuck and money just disappears out of your wallet i am leaving brooklyn as soon as possible

theres no reason why anyone in their right mind should live in nyc. people watch too much sex in the city and gossip girls and think living in the city makes them more interesting than the next dude while in reality you are just another masochist giving the thumbs up while getting fucked in the ass
